Thursday to Thursday

Two weeks ago, Matt and I got to
hang out, talk, laugh, dream, and relax all week long together,

we floated along this awesomely HUGE lazy river a LOT,
sit in palpala's all day relaxing and dreaming about our future (and wondering what our kiddos were doing without us)

and we got to hang out with our great friends, Shannon and Susan in ARUBA!

This is the location that we loved the most for eating dinner! We stumbled upon it the very first night while we were there. With sand in our toes, the beautiful beach ambiance, the amazingly warm temperature with a gentle breeze, and super company (and not a highchair in sight) THIS was the PRIMO dining spot for us in Aruba. It was right at our resort, only steps away from our rooms. Oh, and the food was the BEST we've ever eaten as far as fish goes! The Mahi-Mahi and Swordfish were incredible! And, we loved how at sundown the place was all lit up with twinkle lights! So pretty.

Downtown Aruba... aka where the cruise ships dock. Susan and I thought it was so crazy that we were eating ice cream outside in our shorts right next to snowmen with Christmas decor in December!! We forgot all about our to-do lists at home for Christmas and enjoyed our vacation get away!

Oh My Word! We ate the absolute BEST food in Aruba!
In case you are wondering, yes, we are wearing bibs at dinner! Ha! These meals were all served on 600 degree stones where we cooked our own food. Pretty neat!

Seriously... Look this restaurant up. It was crazy good! There are several locations in the US. It was the best steak I've ever had! wow!!! Each person gets a card. One side red, the other green. IF you want lamp, pork chop, chicken, filet minion (sp?), flank steak, sausage, sirlion.... just flip your card to green and you'll have 10 men surrounding you with sharp spears of meat! WOW! It was SO GOOD. Pretty sure Matt and Shannon ate about 30 pounds of meat that night :)

Jeep Tour! We took a Range Rover tour around the tiny Aruba island. The island is only 19 miles long and 6 miles wide. It was really neat seeing how each end of the island looked so different. We got to go snorkeling in a natural pool and see the entire island! So cool!

Boating Day! We took a boat tour and went snorkeling in three different places in the Caribbean Sea. There are really no words to describe the beauty of the sea. The water was so crystal clear, yet turquoise in color. From the top of the boat, we could look down and see the ocean floor thru the water. What a fun day!! I'm pretty sure this was the day that we got LOTS of SUN!!! Lots.

If you are looking for a vacation destination..... consider Aruba! We loved it and are already looking forward to returning! Thanks S & S for inviting us to come along!!
